This Participation Agreement and Waiver (the "Agreement") is entered into between 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu: Torrance (the "Gym") and the undersigned participant (the "Participant"). By signing, Participant agrees to the following terms regarding the Two-Week Tap-In Challenge (the "Challenge").
1. CHALLENGE OVERVIEW & ELIGIBILITY
1.1 The Offer
The Two-Week Tap-In Challenge is a standalone 14-day challenge program open to new participants ages 4+ who have never previously trained at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu: Torrance.
Participants under 18 must have a parent/legal guardian sign this Agreement.
1.2 One Entry Per Person / Prior Participation Not Eligible
Only one (1) Challenge entry per person. Previous members or prior trial participants are not eligible. The Challenge does not auto-convert into a paid membership.
1.3 Timeline
The 14-day period begins on the date of the Participant's first attended class and runs for 14 consecutive days.
2. POINTS SYSTEM & LEADERBOARD
2.1 Tracking
Attendance and points will be tracked by front desk staff. A leaderboard will be posted at the front desk and shared in the Challenge group chat. Participants are responsible for ensuring attendance is recorded at check-in each visit.
2.2 Leaderboards (Fair Competition)
To keep the Challenge fair, the Gym will track separate leaderboards:
- Kids (ages 4–12)
- Teens/Adults (ages 13+)
The Gym will verify age group at registration.
2.3 Base Points (Safety Rule: One Scoring Session Per Day)
For safety and recovery (especially for beginners), Participants may earn attendance points for one (1) training session per day maximum.
- Attending a class earns 1 base point for that day.
- Attending multiple classes in the same day does not earn additional base points.
Observation credit: If a Participant attends one class and then watches at least half (½) of the next class, the Gym may count that as the day's attendance/engagement for that day (still capped at one scoring session per day). Final judgment is at the Gym's discretion.
2.4 Bonus Points
No buddy/referral points and no social-media/tagging points are included in this Challenge.
(If the Gym runs any special events during the Challenge window, the Gym may announce optional bonus activities in writing in the Challenge group chat. Any announced bonus activities apply only if explicitly stated and must be verifiable by staff.)
2.5 Tie-breaker
If two or more Participants finish with the same total points:
- The winner will be determined by who has more base attendance days during the 14-day window; if still tied,
- The Gym may award the prize at its discretion.
2.6 Disqualification
The Gym reserves the right to disqualify any Participant for:
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
- Violation of Gym rules or etiquette
- Falsifying attendance or points
- Any behavior deemed unsafe or disrespectful to staff or other members
2.7 Class Eligibility by Age Group
- Teens/Adults (13+): may participate in regular adult classes appropriate for their experience level as directed by coaches.
- Kids (4–12): may participate only in age-appropriate kids classes/programs as designated by the Gym.
- The Gym may restrict or redirect a Participant to a safer class option at any time.

If no separate consent is given, the Gym will not use the Participant's image for public marketing.
6. GENERAL TERMS
6.1 No Guarantee of Membership
This is a standalone challenge. Participation does not guarantee ongoing membership at any particular rate and does not auto-convert to a paid membership. Any membership purchased after the Challenge is subject to a separate Membership Agreement.
